Congratulations to the 2010 award winner:
Mr. Carlos Alonso–Niemeyer, LC LEED AP
As co-founder of Lighting Analysts I have had occasional opportunities to touch lives in small ways that allow me to declare my professional life as “Mission Accomplished”. I am blessed to have crossed paths with our 2010 winner many years ago when I was able to assist in a small way toward his future. The following excerpt is from his award application.
“I am proud to say that I am a self made American. Twenty years ago I came to the US like many immigrants with a dream of citizenship. I chose the path of education to achieve my goal. While in graduate school, I decided to pursue lighting because it was the most obscure specialty I could find. Such unique skills would make me eligible for a green card. Throughout my struggles with the immigration and naturalization services, I once found myself entangled in legal battles that almost sent me back to my country of origin. One of the key documents that helped my case was a letter from Lighting Analysts that explained my experience and expertise in using AGI. After that episode, my commitment to promote the benefits and advantages of AGI became a part of my life”
Carlos began his career as an application engineer with a large manufacturer which is when the event described above took place. He worked his way up the ladder to eventually earn the title of International Sales Manager for that same firm. Seeing opportunity, he moved on to achieve that same level of success with another prestigious manufacturer of lighting equipment. Always thirsty for a new challenge, Carlos continued to the lamp industry where he enhanced his career through international sales and management of national accounts. After twenty years of distinguished service in our industry, Carlos is now starting from scratch with the formation of Alonso–Niemeyer Consulting. Success follows people with an insatiable appetite to achieve and we are so very pleased he applied for this years award. It is once again a pleasure to assist this outstanding gentleman who is truly the embodiment of the American Dream.
Congratulations Carlos!
