Lighting Analysts has announced the winner of the 2020 Charles Loch Memorial Award. This is an award for a passionate lighting professional in a recently established or otherwise deserving design practice or lighting-centric business. The award consists of a complimentary one-year, single-user subscription for AGi32.
Congratulations to the 2020 award winner:
Kaci DeLong, Jennifer Curtis and LightHive!
“We founded our company on the basis of the power of light to transform spaces and affect humanity.”
Kaci and Jen started LightHive after working with large and small companies; both felt they were missing something. Coming together and sharing their knowledge, thoughts and resources allowed them to unify their dream of owning a lighting design firm. LightHive was created to allow them to connect to projects, clients, and form a collective of conscious lighting designers. They say, “A group of people who are aware of their commonality and think and act as a community, sharing their knowledge, thoughts, and resources to produce a unified outcome.”
LightHive has recently received their WBE (Women’s Business Enterprise) certification and working with architects to locate projects to help underserved communities. However, they are not stopping there! The duo is currently proposing to work on a healthcare project in an area of Chicago where hospitals are being closed for underfunding. Kaci and Jenn will be able to contribute to these projects by meeting the WBE requirements using their new subscription of AGi32 to run the photometric calculations.
We are honored to provide Kaci, Jen, and LightHive with the Charles Loch Award for 2020!
