Daniel John Stine AIA, IES, CSI, CDT, is a Wisconsin registered architect with over twenty years of experience in the field of architecture. He is the Director of Design Technology at top-ranked architecture firm Lake|Flato, in San Antonio, Texas. Dan is a co-author of the forthcoming AIA Climate Action Guide for Practice and is a member the AIA COTE’s Climate Action – Climate Justice subcommittee.
He has delivered training on ElumTools, for Lighting Analysts, Inc. since 2016. He started using the product when it was still in beta, prior to its official release.
Dan has presented on lighting design at Lightfiar (Chicago), AIA Minnesota Convention (Minneapolis), BILT (Toronto, Canada), BILT (Scotland), RTC (Atlanta), and RTC (Vancouver, Canada). He also teaches a lighting design module to his graduate architecture students at NDSU and has lectured on the topic at the University of Minnesota (lighting design minor and interior design programs) as well as UTSA.
He is a member of the Illuminating Engineering society and chair of their BIM Standards committee. Dan is also a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the Construction Specification Institute (AIA), and the Autodesk Executive Council. He has written 15 textbooks (SDC Publications), one of which, is the #1 Revit textbook in North America. He also earned an ACEC-MN honor award for his involvement in creating and developing the Electrical Productivity Pack for Autodesk Revit.
