Charlie Leavitt is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with degrees in Theater Arts and Business Finance as well as graduate study in Economics.
Charlie first entered the lighting industry in 1963, at the age of 11, working for his father’s electrical distribution company. Charlie’s experience includes distribution, manufacturing, product design and specification sales. He holds the LC credential from NCQLP and the Certificate of Technical Knowledge from the IESNA. Charlie is a frequent lecturer on lighting design, lighting mathematics, interior design and code compliance. A longtime supporter of the Twin Cities IES section, he has been a frequent instructor over the past 30 years for IES ED100, ED150 and Fundamentals of Lighting courses there.
In his spare time, Charlie enjoys raising and showing Boston Terriers. His current pride and joy is Stanley.
