Instabase® – What’s New

Definitely the most exciting change to the Instabase since its inception is the new ability to search across all manufacturers (we now call them Brands). We enabled this capability after some deep changes that made the search process dramatically faster. We ask you: why not allow your search criteria to locate products you may not even know about?! The dramatic speed improvement in searching has a small restriction: the results must be displayed in List View. We don’t see that as a problem if you make sure your search narrows the field enough to be able to scroll through the results. You can see how many products meet the search and from what brands they represent. List View is automatically selected when you click the All Brands box.

If you want to narrow the number of Brands, just click the Selected link and pick your preferences as usual. The search will automatically be performed on the smaller group when you exit the Brand selector.

You can also sort your search results by meaningful fields such as LER (lumens/watt), watts, luminaire lumens and even a subjective quality ranking.*

* Database and individual files are “Quality” ranked primarily by the following:

1. Database: Last update. Obviously more frequent is better
2. Database: Search keywords (the star system). See Custom Search Keywords (link)
3. Per file: Download count
4. Per file: Details link click count
5. Per file: Custom symbol (AGi32)
6. Per file: Includes InfoURL link
7. Per file: Includes image file (.jpg, .png)
