Maureen Castillo is a lighting designer with over 10 years of experience. She became Lighting Certified (LC) in 2012. Her project experience includes: education, retail/mixed use, commercial, industrial/manufacturing, government, and aviation facilities.
Maureen learned to use AGi32 at the start of her lighting career by building complex structures where she quickly learned the ins and outs of the software. Since then, she has specialized in building complex lighting models and incorporating BIM technologies to help design a more accurate environment for calculations. She has extensive calculation experience in both interior and exterior lighting applications.
Outside of work, Maureen enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Insiya Divan lives in the Boston area and started her own firm, id Lighting Design, in 2013. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a Master of Science degree in Lighting from RPI’s Lighting Research Center. She has over ten years of experience designing lighting for educational, civic, residential, commercial, healthcare and retail projects, and enjoys working on and experimenting with many aspects of lighting.
Insiya has been using AGi32 since she started her lighting career. In her design practice she has used both mockups and AGi32 to observe, study and fine tune how light behaves in unique situations. The software’s daylighting module is probably one of her favorite features, and she is always looking for ways of applying it in her design practice. She believes that AGi32 is an invaluable tool for most lighting professionals and is happy to teach the software to interested lighting enthusiasts.
Insiya is an associate member of IALD, a member of IES and a LEED accredited professional. A winner of Lighting Analysts’ 2013 Charles Loch Award, Insiya is also an AGi32 Authorized Instructor for Lighting Analysts. She can be contacted at idivan@idlightingdesign.com with inquiries (www.idlightingdesign.com).

Paul is located in Southern Pennsylvania where he founded Lighting Designs by Dugan in 2017. He provides lighting application support to manufacturers, sales representatives, distributors, and architectural/engineering design firms.
Paul graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a BSME in 2006 and has been an active member of the IES since 2010. For 10 years, he was a member of the outdoor application support team for Philips Lighting where he specialized in roadway and aided in the optical design process. He is also intimately familiar with the IES file format, Photometric Toolbox, and LM80 testing procedures.
When not providing application support, you can usually find Paul coaching esports or wrestling in his local community. He enjoys spending time with his family, bowling and golfing.

Donna Gafford founded Defining Brilliance Consulting in 2020 to aid those in the lighting industry looking for education and lighting application support and guidance.
Prior to becoming an independent consultant, Donna spent over a decade holding various roles in Marketing and Applications Engineering at Signify/Philips/Day-Brite Lighting. During her tenure she crafted education/brand awareness materials and events geared toward specifiers and agents alike. In addition, she developed and managed the entire company BIM (Building Information Models) strategy and constructed countless lighting designs to support sales agents.
Donna holds an AAS in CADD and her BS in Organizational Leadership (Concentration: Project Management). In addition, she earned her lighting certification (LC) from NCQLP in 2010 and the Certificate of Management-Building Information Modeling (CM-BIM) from AGC in 2015.
Always striving to remain active in the lighting industry, Donna has been a member of the IES since 2014. She served as Co-Chair of the Vision Science Committee (2019-2020) and Chair of the BIM Committee (2017-2019).

Formerly the Principal of AC Hickox Lighting Design, AC has over 25 years’ experience in lighting design and production management encompassing Off-Broadway and regional theatre, dance and opera, as well as extensive tours worldwide. For fifteen years she was on the faculty of Teachers College-Columbia University, lectured at CCNY, and has served as visiting professor of lighting at the University of Illinois-Urbana.
In 1999 AC joined Domingo Gonzalez Associates as Senior Associate / Project Manager, trading theatre for a concentration in transportation. Notable projects involving many calculations studies (all with AGi32) include the Second Avenue Subway, East Side Access, the Mario Cuomo Bridge, and, interestingly, several psychiatric facilities. AC’s credentials: LC, CLD, MIES, IALD, LEED AP BD+C. Now a Principal at DGA, any spare time is spent beta-testing new versions of AGi32 and, rarely, travel to exotic locales in Pennsylvania and Ontario.

Aaron Keil is an architectural engineer with a diverse background in lighting, electrical systems, and infrastructure projects. He currently works for Wi-Skies, LLC, an electrical engineering firm specializing in DOT applications. His prior experience includes roles as a lighting manufacturer representative, a lighting design specialist in electrical distribution, and a project manager for a national electrical contractor. Through these roles, Aaron has applied lighting analysis and engineering principles across a wide range of projects, including commercial, residential, educational, medical, industrial and manufacturing facilities, utilities, and DOT infrastructure.
This broad project experience shapes Aaron’s practical approach to teaching software tools. Having worked closely with designers, contractors, manufacturers, and engineers, he understands how lighting analysis fits into real project workflows—from early concept through final design validation. In his courses, Aaron connects software features to real engineering decisions, emphasizing efficient modeling techniques, practical problem-solving, and industry best practices while breaking down complex lighting and engineering concepts into clear, approachable steps that students can confidently apply on real projects.
Aaron has been an active member of the Illuminating Engineering Society since 2013. He earned his Lighting Certified (LC) credential in 2018 and his Professional Engineer (PE) license in 2024.
