Important! Important Update: New Support Case Submission Process Change
Dear Valued Customer,

We want you to know about an important update to our support process. On March 31, 2025, we will retire the email-to-case new case submission functionality. This means customers will no longer be able to submit new support requests via email. Instead, all new support cases must be submitted through the Revalize Customer Portal.

Why is this change being made?
The decision to retire the email-to-case new case submission functionality is part of our ongoing efforts to streamline our support services delivery and provide a more efficient, consistent, and secure experience for our customers. The current email-to-case system is inefficient and often results in incomplete cases being created, requiring follow-up with the reporting person to gather all necessary information. By eliminating this intake method, we aim to ensure that new cases are created and submitted with all required information reducing the need for repeated back-and-forth communication.

How do I submit a support case now?
You can submit a support case through the Revalize Customer Portal. Here’s how:
  1. Log in: Go to support.revalizesoftware.com and log in.
  2. Submit a Case: Navigate to Request Help and select the Customer Support option. Fill out the form with the required details and click submit.

For additional direction, please refer to the Revalize Customer Portal Support Case Creation Guide.

What are the benefits of using the Customer Portal?
Using the Customer Portal offers several benefits:
  • Faster Response Times: Cases submitted through the Portal are prioritized and routed directly to the appropriate support team member, ensuring quicker engagement and troubleshooting of reported issues.
  • 24/7 Access: The Portal is available 24/7, allowing you to search the knowledge base for solutions, review product Release Notes, download your products, submit cases, and access relevant resources all in one place.
  • Enhanced Security: The Portal provides a secure environment for submitting sensitive information, protecting your data.
  • Comprehensive Case Management: Easily track the progress of your cases, view past submissions, and check case statuses at any time.

What if I have trouble accessing the Customer Portal?
If you have trouble registering or logging into the Portal, please visit support.revalizesoftware.com for guidance.

Can I still communicate via email for open cases?
Yes, this transition will not impact email communication for open cases. Customers can continue to communicate via email for cases that are in progress. Customers will still receive updates and can provide additional information via email until the case is closed.

How can I learn more regarding this change?
You can reference the FAQ we’ve created regarding this change for your reference. Additionally, we created a series of Guides to walk you through the process of registering and logging into the Revalize Customer Portal and creating new support cases.

Who can I contact for further assistance?
For further assistance, please submit a support request through the Portal, and our support team will be happy to help you.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we make this important transition. Our goal is to enhance your support experience and ensure that your requests are handled efficiently and effectively.

Thank you for your continued support.

Best regards,
Revalize Customer Support

AGi32 v22.1
AGi23 Release Notes
Release Date: 12/20/2024

AGi23 represents a significant milestone in the evolution of our global command's architecture. This release introduces the final set of Array commands, along with expanded functionalities that enable more flexible placement of objects, luminaires, rooms, Lighting Power Density (LPD) areas, calculation points, statistical areas, and drawing entities. Additionally, AGi23 now supports the TM-33 photometric file format and includes numerous bug fixes, improving both functionality and performance.

I. Arrays & Global Commands Enhancements

Overview:
This release completes our global commands initiative, providing intuitive and consistent methods to copy, rotate, and array various entity types. The new and improved commands allow you to work more efficiently by offering multiple selection methods (Single, Window, All), supporting a wide range of entity types, and simplifying complex placement scenarios.

Key New and Enhanced Commands:

Copy and Rotate

Description: A flexible replacement for traditional “polar” array functions. With “Copy and Rotate,” you can select one or multiple entities, define a rotation center, and create multiple rotated copies at angles you specify.

Note: Rotation angles can be specified manually, or user can type value in standard input field as he does for any 'Rotate' command

Supported Entity Types: Objects, Rooms (Plan view only), Luminaires, LPD Areas (Plan only, XY rotation), Calculation Points (including associated rooms/objects), Statistical Areas (Plan only), and Drawing Entities (Plan, ISO, and Elevation views).

Benefit: A unified approach to rotation-based copying, reducing the need for separate polar array commands and enhancing spatial flexibility.

Global (Unified) Commands

Global Copy and Rotate: Extends the “Copy and Rotate” functionality to multiple entity types in one command.

Global Rectangular Array: A single command that handles rectangular array creation for a wide range of entities (except schedules).

Description: Allows you to create rectangular arrays of selected entities with user-defined spacing and quantity along X, Y, and optionally Z axes. Certain entity types ignore the Z dimension if they must remain at zero elevation.

Supported Entity Types: Objects, Rooms, Luminaires, LPD Areas (X and Y only), Calculation Points (including associated rooms/objects), Statistical Areas (X and Y only), and Drawing Entities.

Benefit: Centralized commands reduce menu complexity and learning curves, letting you apply a consistent workflow to various entity types.

Stairs Builder Commands (Spiral and Straight)

Description: Specialized array commands for creating stairs using template entities (including objects, luminaires, and calculation points). The Spiral Stairs command arranges steps around a central point with rise and angle parameters, while the Straight Stairs command arranges steps in a linear fashion with run and rise parameters.

Supported Entity Types: Objects and associated calculation points, and optionally luminaires.

Benefit: Automates the creation of complex stair arrangements, saving time and ensuring accuracy when modeling stepped or spiraling configurations.

UI & Menu Integration:

“Copy and Rotate” commands are placed between existing “Copy” and “Rotate” menu items.

Stairs Builder commands (Spiral and Straight) are consolidated under a new “Stairs Builder” submenu in the Design Tools toolkit.

II. TM-33 File Photometric Support

Description:
AGi23 now supports the TM-33 photometric data format. By supporting TM-33, AGi23 ensures compatibility with modern lighting data standards, making it easier to incorporate rich photometric information into your lighting analyses.

Benefits:

Access to more detailed and modern photometric data.

Improved compatibility with evolving industry standards.

III. Bug Fixes & Improvements

Room/Object-Associated Calculation Point Hints

Improved hints to describe usage scenarios.

Calculation Grid Slope Issue

Grids no longer slope unintentionally when created from footprints.

Horizontal/slope options hidden where not applicable.

Cone Object Negative Height Parameter

Adjusted both logic and documentation to correctly handle negative height values.

Polygon Grid Functionality Restore

Restored previous polygon grid creation capabilities, enabling multiple polygon grids simultaneously.

External Rendering Isolines Error

Resolved error displaying isolines and spatial maps, occurring in certain cases.

Open/Save File Crash in v.22.0.0.26

Improved exception handling around file dialog operations.

Grid Elevation Change Affects All Grids

Elevation changes now apply only to selected grids, preserving others.

Error Saving File in Render Mode

Addressed bitmap handling logic to prevent invalid image errors when saving the file in Render Mode.

Working Files Location Mismatch

Unified displayed working files path with actual storage location and improved file migration logic.

Edit LPD/UWLR Dialog Cutoff

Adjusted dialog layout to restore full visibility of all options.

External Render Incorrect Results

Corrected unit handling and data consistency for accurate external renderer results.

Conclusion:
AGi23 introduces a robust set of enhancements to global commands, creating a unified, flexible set of tools for copying, rotating, and arraying entities. Combined with TM-33 photometric support and numerous bug fixes, AGi23 continues to advance the capabilities of AGi32, delivering a more efficient, accurate, and user-friendly lighting design experience.
